About Me
Welcome to Hippogriff's Aerie, I'm Hippogriff. I've loved the Fantasy Fiction genre since I read The Hobbit, Narnia, and Prydain books as a young boy, then moved to Lord of the Rings, Elric, Amber, and Lankhmar. I've read close to 300 books in the genre, and maintain an extensive library. I started on paperbacks but now prefer hardcover, and I have avoided an e-reader so far.
I'm over 40, an avid reader, and an aspiring writer working on my own novel. My favorite authors are Roger Zelazny, Robin Hobb, Glen Cook, Michael Moorcock, and lately Patrick Rothfuss, Howard Andrew Jones, and Brandon Sanderson.
I have a lot of other hobbies and things I collect - board games, pinball machines, electric guitar, and video games to name a few, which I will also discuss. Reviews are subjective and not everyone has the same reading experience. However, by finding commonalities between what I like and what you like, you may discover something useful here. I don't use numeric scores for reviews, but instead talk about my likes and dislikes. I hope you enjoy the site. Please leave comments here on how I can improve the blog or what you would like to see more of.
